Robert H. Cawly

Vice President
Bob has proven track record in assisting clients
build new business ventures, product revenue streams
and other shareholder value programs. He has designed
and executed shareholder value programs either
as part of an established business or new venture.
Among his clients are a nationally recognized
research laboratory, major aerospace defense contractors,
world-class research institutions, leading universities,
venture capital firms, and over 20 start-up companies.
Bob worked at Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. as
a venture manager and an entrepreneur that successfully
launched a number of start-up companies. At Safeguard,
he conducted a review of the assets developed
by Bell Labs for Lucent Technologies to guide
development of commercialization strategies in
working with entrepreneurs and venture funds.
Of note, he founded The Value Sourcing Group to
assist client’s increase the value sourced
from information, process and technology investments
using The Value Sourcing Methodology that he authored.
This company remains the most successful start-up
in Safeguard’s history.
From 1992 to 1994 Bob served as the Chief Operating
Officer and Senior Vice President of the Business
Technology Group of Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
From January 1977 to 1985, he was a practice consultant
at Price Waterhouse. At admission to the partnership
in 1986, he was Managing Partner and Founder of
Price Waterhouse’s Applied Technology Center,
an innovation lab that grew to $250 million in
industry and IT consulting revenue in 4 years.
In April of 1990 to April 1992, Bob served as
a Deputy Vice-Chairman of the firm overseeing
the consulting services for the US practice.
